You're right about Portis...he's a clown. If I remember correctly, he (along with Chris Samuels) also spoke out in defense of Michael Vick early in the dogfighting mess. Media outlets must have him marked as a "go-to" guy on sports controversy, just knowing that he'll say something stupid.

I do like Dockett, but he's a ticking social media time bomb. He's gonna get himself in trouble (more than he already has) real soon.

By the way, congrats on the new site. It looks great!

I wasn't referring to Sainz as scantily-clad, though. That was just an analogy to describe a man's reaction to a woman period, not her.

You had me until "scantily clad." Sainz wasn't scantily clad. She was wearing jeans and a button-down shirt. That's not scantily. I've seen female sideline reporters dress more provocatively and no one says a word.

The Nielson Company released television numbers for September 6th-12th. The huge numbers continued for the NFL. Of the top 10 prime-time programs across all networks, the NFL ranked 1st through 6th and 9th. 27.5 million tuned in to watch the Saints and the Vikings, the highest rated Thursday night opener in league history. The Dallas-Washington game on NBC was the most watched Sunday night game ever, with 25.3 million watching. Meanwhile, Fox earned its highest rating for opening weekend it 14 years with 28 million tuning into watch Green Bay and Philadelphia. Further proof that fans are opting to stay home on Sundays.

The troubled economy has a great affect on attendance, but it's a combination of the economy, and the ever-rising cost to attend a game that is really driving attendance down.

I recently attended a Giants pre-season game.

Single ticket price: $140
Single can of Schlitz: $12

Yes. You read that correctly. At Giants Stadium (or the New Meadowlands, or whatever it's called), a single can of god-awful Schlitz beer is $12.

That's $304 for two people to attend a single game, and each have a single beer at that game. And that was a pre-season game! Who can afford to attend 8 games a year at prices higher than that?

I could go to a bar every weekend during the season, drink as much as I wanted, while watching 8 different games at once, and it would cost less than attending a single preseason game.

It's not the economic problems which are hurting attendance, it's the NFL's failure to realize the economic problems.

Johnson's biggest flaw is that he tried to get away with it, if you watch the replay he grounds his club then backs off, he knew it then, he didn't call it on himself, (something that golfers are supposed to do) and then went on to write a 5 on the card only to have to erase it when the rules official tells him that it was a bunker. (which johnson already knew) this guy should be made an example of on an even bigger level then what he has been, he tried to cheat his way to a major championship.
