Rich Gray

Rich Gray is like a lot of transplanted Phoenix residents.

He says he’s from out of state, despite spending all but three years of his life in Arizona, and he became a fan of several out of state teams because there was only one local professional sports team in the Valley of the Sun (sorry, the pre-Whisenhunt Cardinals do not count).

Rich’s earliest sports memories consist of John Paxson and Mario Elie 3-pointers, Jim Harbaugh and the Cardiac Colts, Joe Germaine finding David Boston in the back of the endzone, Stevie Y and the Russian Five and so many disappointing Chicago Cubs seasons. Now he thanks the football gods everyday for Peyton Manning, curses Sidney Crosby’s name and still believes the Cubs will win a World Series in his lifetime.

Rich began covering sports at Westview High School in Avondale, Ariz. He continued that pursuit at Arizona State University, finding his true calling in sports talk radio. There, Rich teamed with Justin Karp to form the greatest sports talk show in the history of college radio. Ask Zack Greinke if you don’t believe us.

Currently, Rich works at The Fan AM 1060 as a reporter and board operator for Kevin McCabe & Friends and The SportsZone with Bob Kemp. He also spends a lot of time watching bad baseball at Chase Field.
